The ARKEDGE team is incredibly proud to officially introduce our upcoming professional 1/24 RC drift track: A-TILE TYPE A.
We have never accepted the idea that 1/24 scale drifting is merely a "downgraded alternative" to 1/10 scale. 1/24 has its own unique driving essence and endless tuning possibilities.
Our 1/24 drift journey began in 2022. Back then, we followed the mainstream solution: printed PVC surfaces with track prep (lubricant), running the 1st-generation TG chassis designed by MA. We were all beginners, and the ARK EDGE team didn't even exist yet. The sheer charm of drifting drove us to practice daily, chasing the perfect racing line. As our skills progressed, we naturally started doing Tsuiso (tandem drifting). Once the competitive element was introduced, the demands on our cars skyrocketed. Entry-level gyros, motors, ESCs, and servos could no longer keep up with the precision needed for close tandems, so we began upgrading. Yet, even with fully upgraded electronics, the drift performance still fell short. This forced us to turn our attention to the chassis itself, sparking our very own R&D journey into chassis and gyros (This led to the birth of the AE28U, AE24X, and the AG4 GYRO)

We continuously iterated and pushed our R&D. But even when our chassis performance became more than capable, we still couldn't unlock the 1/24 drift experience we truly desired. During a drift, we couldn't feel the weight transfer (inertia). When the ESC Turbo kicked in, the car struggled to change its trajectory. Because of the track lubricant, the grip feedback was heavily delayed. Even worse, the lubricant aggressively accelerated the aging of the PVC surface. After prepping the track multiple times, the grip never returned to its original state—it became unpredictably "slippery yet grippy", completely ruining the immersion. Under these conditions, achieving realistic, scale-speed tandem drifts was almost impossible for the average player.

After identifying the problem, we dug deep into the cause. A prepped/waxed track drastically magnifies the performance gaps between different chassis. Cars with higher low-speed grip (before Turbo engages) gain an overwhelming advantage, making it impossible for the chase car to catch up. Even slightly different chassis setups resulted in entirely different drift rhythms, making on-the-fly proximity adjustments nearly impossible without crashing. Ultimately, everyone was forced to run extreme rear-biased weight distributions and zero-drag Ackermann setups just to stay together in a tandem. The tuning diversity was gone; it became monotonous and boring.
So, we started testing every material we could get our hands on—from epoxy flooring to standard tiles, and eventually engineering plastics. We also tested every tire material imaginable: POM, PA, UPE, PC, ABS, ASA, PETG, PLA... But nothing on the market met our strict demands. As our options dwindled and R&D costs piled up, frustration loomed over the team. We considered giving up more than once.

But our persistence paid off, and a turning point arrived. More and more players started buying our products and believing in us. Instead of pocketing the profits, we poured every cent back into R&D. We finally had the resources to partner with top-tier professional injection molding factories. Through relentless communication and learning, our understanding of material science deepened. We began tuning our own polymer compounds, ultimately manufacturing the perfect tires for 1/24 drifting (the origin of A-TYRE). Armed with R&D funding and factory support, we shifted our focus to track surfaces, using test molds to verify our custom formulas.

Finally, we nailed it. We formulated the ideal material that perfectly matched every characteristic we demanded. The final step was what we do best: 3D modeling and design, injecting maximum detail and playability into A-TILE. Today, we are beyond thrilled to announce that the development of A-TILE TYPE A is a complete success.

There was no track on the market truly dedicated to 1:24 RWD drifting, so we decided to build it ourselves.
A-TILE TYPE A is not just another floor tile; it is a purpose-built competition surface system explicitly developed for 1/24 scale RWD drift cars.
Key Features:
- Zero Track Prep Required: A-TILE TYPE A is a completely maintenance-free surface that requires absolutely no lubricants. It provides highly consistent grip, which is crucial for competitive practice and muscle memory.
- Precision Injection Molding: This process gives the surface a highly refined, realistic texture. It ensures that every single tile is perfectly identical in size, guaranteeing flawless quality control for every tile you lay down.
- Awaken Your Suspension: By utilizing 3D scanning of real mountain roads for reverse engineering, we captured minute elevation changes and integrated them directly into the tile's surface. A-TILE TYPE A delivers genuine road feedback—meaning your chassis' shock absorbers are no longer just for show. You will literally see the suspension working.
- Open-Source Ecosystem: The surface features a 10x10 array of 3mm expansion holes (spaced at 25x25mm), taking playability to the next level. We will be open-sourcing the 3D files for all our custom expansion parts (guardrails, traffic cones, curbs, and building block adapter plates). Designed for 3D printing, these parts require no glue and simply plug in, allowing you to change layouts in seconds. ARK EDGE wants to co-create the 1/24 ecosystem with you, giving you the power to design your ultimate racing lines.
- Lightweight & Infinite Expansion: Each tile measures 25x25cm with a lightweight, hollowed-out design at just 5mm thick. Using 3D-printed interlocking clips, the track can be expanded infinitely to seamlessly fit any room size or layout.
- Family & Home Safe: A-TILE TYPE A features a unique dual-friction profile: It allows lightweight RC cars to slide beautifully, but provides immense grip when stepped on by humans, making home installations drastically safer than slippery P-Tiles.
- The Ultimate Guarantee: Above all, we guarantee that once your tires touch A-TILE TYPE A, you will finally experience the true essence of 1/24 drifting. It will act as a mirror, flawlessly showcasing the unique characteristics and setups of every chassis you drive.
Finally, while ARK EDGE’s journey has been met with its fair share of skepticism, it has also been fueled by incredible support from players who believe in us. We will never let doubts slow us down. If you love 1/24 RC, you are a friend of ours. We hope that A-TILE TYPE A serves as a better, more professional platform for the global community to connect and drift together.
We are engineers and drivers at heart, not marketers, so we haven't always been the best at voicing our philosophy. But today, our 1/24 R&D has reached a massive milestone. We want to share our hard work and show the world our dedication to the 1/24 community. Moving forward, we will be highly active in helping newcomers, and we will let our technology speak for itself through our products.
Also, get ready for our brand-new chassis dropping later this year! We poured everything we have into designing a truly accessible, professional-grade chassis. It won’t carry an untouchable price tag, yet it will deliver the absolute highest level of performance and quality control available on the market, all while being incredibly user-friendly (more details in an upcoming article).
